The two books I am reading at the moment say alot about life. On the one hand I am reading “Searching for the Invisible God” and on the other “Wild at Heart”. With one eye I am searching for God, and with the other I am searching for myself. For me this is the right balance. If we seek one without the other I believe there would be an imbalance. If only God then I am in danger of becoming a religious clone with no identity. If only myself then I am looking at a creation without understanding the creator. Paul said “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known” (1 Cor 13:12). In the search for truth and for life we must come to know who we are, but this can only be done in the light of who God is.

Daniel, servant of the living God! Was your God, whom you worship continually, able to rescue you from the lions?
