In the sermon I mentioned before in “S.U.Ds” there was also a concept I hadn’t really considered. The guy speaking asked if we had made a plan for our integrity. The point he was making is that many people try and wing-it, living life as it comes and dealing with the problems as they arise. This doesn’t lead to any effective personal integrity.
Its made me think about things I would do/change in order to maintain my integrity, not keep away from sin. I was reminded this morning of a verse I have quoted before, “Sin is at your door looking to master you”. If sin is around we need to be masters of it rather than having it master us. The implication here is that we need to recognise dangerous situations, have wisdom and learn how to avoid them or deal with them.
Things to consider in a plan of integrity:
1) Who do I spend my time with - am I alone with women (for a man)?
2) What do I watch on TV and when do I watch it? Late night TV on your own is not a good idea
3) Am I accountable to anyone or am I an island? Do I have friends who will call me up on things?
4) Recognise the potential dangers of the internet and guard against them
5) … can you think of more …

Daniel, servant of the living God! Was your God, whom you worship continually, able to rescue you from the lions?
