I have just been listening to a sermon on idolatry by Mark Driscoll . He asks this question on the assumption that we all have idols (to varying degrees) to which we are often blind in to, especially in the Western world. So take a bit of time and ask yourself these questions:
What are you most afriad of?
What are you passionate about?
Where do you run for comfort?
What angers you?
If you could change one thing about yourself it would be …
What would be your hell on earth?
We look for false saviours for lots of things instead of first coming to Jesus.
Idols are not normally bad things but good things that enslave us

Daniel, servant of the living God! Was your God, whom you worship continually, able to rescue you from the lions?
