I’m looking forward to the weekend. Its felt like a long week. Tonight I have organised for the guys to go bowling, shoot some pool, probably drink some beer. Its overdue.
Tomorrow is probably filled with a bit of DIY (we want to move house, so need to sort ours out a little), and then football in the afternoon.
Not church whats happening at church on Sunday, but that could be a good thing. I’m free to go and just enjoy it. I wasn’t really able to last week because Joshua was just coming out of a illness and much prefered to be in the creche than in the meeting. It wasn’t all bad though as I got to chat with a visiting Dad who was also in there.

Something I forgot to mention yesterday when I wrote was about a renewed importance of personal evangelism. Its a subject that seems to be cropping up evrywhere for me at the moment, and I don’t want to hide from what God is showing me. So I took the opportunity to challenge myself on this and get my butt into gear.
You may have heard about an interview with one of the guys from Penn and Teller. He put it that you must really hate someone if you don’t share your faith when there is so much at stake (i.e hell). This was ringing in my ears as I prayed and felt God tell me that I should approach a particular person in the street and invite them to an event. At I thought of all the reasons not to do this it struck me the underlying factor behind not doing so was not my hate of this person, but of my love for myself. All my reasons were about me, not wanting to look strange being the main one.
I did do it, I felt strange, and also felt ill equipped to respond to some questions (I think I wasn’t expecting them). But I felt obedient, and that was a much better feeling. Long may it continue.

Daniel, servant of the living God! Was your God, whom you worship continually, able to rescue you from the lions?
